Job Title: Wind Turbine Technician

Job Overview
The Wind Turbine Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing wind turbine components to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role requires hands-on work at significant heights and in various weather conditions, and it is critical to upholding safety and quality standards while supporting renewable energy production.
Responsibilities
- Inspection
Conduct regular inspections of wind turbines to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Perform preventive maintenance on wind turbines, including replacing filters, and inspecting critical components.
- Repair and Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions in turbine systems.
Perform troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and software, interpret error codes, and implement repairs promptly to reduce downtime.
Address issues with control systems, gearbox, yaw and pitch systems, brakes, and other turbine components.
- Installation and Commissioning
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines, including assembling components and calibrating systems.
Test turbine functionality after installation and verify it meets operational specifications.
- Blade Repair
Perform maintenance and repair work on blades of wind turbines at height: perform LPS measurements, blade internal fibre inspections, blade and tower cleaning, component impact repairs, leading edge erosion repairs, etc.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification in wind energy, electrical, mechanical, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: At least 1 years of experience in the described functions.
Certifications:
GWO Basic Safety Training Certification required.
GWO Blade Repair Training certification is an advantage.
IRATA Rope Access Training minimum Level 1 is an advantage.
Driver License.
Rigging License is an advantage.
Withe Card.
Current Electrical License is an advantage.
Competencies:
Proficiency with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting tools and diagnostic software; knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
Ability to identify small discrepancies or issues in complex machinery and perform precision repairs.
Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Commitment to following stringent safety procedures and standards to ensure personal and team safety.
Ability to effectively document and communicate issues, work performed, and recommendations.
Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable working as part of a team.
Job Type:
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week.
Ability to commute/relocate: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
Experience: 1 year (Required).
Australian driver license (Preferred).
Work Authorisation.
